Quincy Expected to Get an Additional $1M in State Aid.
The City of Quincy is expected to get an additional one million dollars in state aid for the 2008 fiscal year. This is good news for the city, but future years are not looking to good as aid ti cities and towns is expected to drop.
This is a 7% increase for the City and would bring their total to over 38 million dollars.
Quincy Looking To Create the City's First Dog Park.
The City is holding meetings with dog owners in the city and planning a new dog park, which would be the first in Quincy. A location has not yet been picked, but this is great news for dog owners. Once accomplished, dog owners would have a place to gather with other dog owners and get their pets some excercise at the same time.
This shows the City's commitment to making Quincy a welcome city for all.
Quincy Once Again Named a Tree City USA city.
Quincy was recently named a Tree City USA city because of it's commitment to planting and maintaining trees throughout the city. Quincy has had this honor for over 10 years now and is still planning to continue with their tree pograms.
Quincy Building New Track at Pageants Field.
A new regulation size track is going to be built at Pageant Field in the Merrymount section of Quincy at a cost of 1 million dollars. Quincy has upgraded many of the baseball and football parks and now the track enthusiasts are getting their new track. The loation at Pageant Field makes it accessible to both Highschools, being located between the two schools.
