In November of 2006 The City of Quincy MA was named the second safest city in Massachusetts. It also moved up from number 95 to number 76 nationally. Only Newton was ranked higher in Massachusetts at number 1. Newton is ranked number 4 in the nation.

The ratings were based on crime statitics reported to the FBI. This is a great success for the Quincy Police Department and shows the fantastic job they are doing in Quincy.
